The students actually thanked me as they were packing their supplies to leave the class. They enjoyed the discussion and the demonstrations. Some commented on an improved understanding of the material and being more prepared for the next day's exam.

Following Wednesday's lab, I am more confident about the impact of my presence and my "activities" in helping more students to understand the concepts in the curriculum. What excites me the most is that students who previously only asked for help are participating more in the discussions and are able to help other students with their work. On Monday, more students were asking me to check their work than to help walk them through a problem. In fact, when one ESL student asked for help, another student came back to the table and told me, "Miss, it’s OK. I can explain it to him."
